Sydney Guine, originally from Los Angeles, CA, began dancing at the age of 3. She started her more serious study of ballet with Nancy Dobbs-Owen and, then, at the age of 7, during a summer intensive, she discovered her love for diverse styles of dance at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA). While there for 11 years, she received training in African, Dunham, Graham, Horton, Flamenco, Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Latin Fusion techniques under the tutelage of Ms. Allen. While at DADA, Sydney was honored with opportunities such as performing and taking class in Caba, as well as dancing at the Kennedy Center, the Apollo, and for Michelle Obama at the White House. 

Sydney graduated from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts in 2020. She has had the privilege of working with choreographers such as Hope Boykin, Darrel Moultrie, Maleek Washington, Anthony Burrell, Otis Salid, Jacob Jonas, and Desmond Richardson.  Sydney graduated in May of 2024 from the Alvin Ailey/Fordham University BFA program, also double majoring in Sociology. She is currently in Northeastern University’s Masters program for Arts Administration and Cultural Entrepreneurship. 

Sydney danced with Dallas Black Dance Theatre: Encore! for three seasons as well as acted as rehearsal assistant and is extremely excited to be working with Ballet Papillon.
